A community project for Durham

Help build a permanent Muslim community centre in Durham.

Durham is one of the very few cities in the UK without a permanent Muslim community centre. We are working to change that, and to create a place for worship, learning, community and a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Why we need it

A permanent home for Durham’s Muslim community.

Durham’s Muslim community needs a dedicated space that can serve more than a single purpose. The aim is to establish a permanent community centre where people can worship together, families can connect, children and adults can learn, and the community can grow.

This is an investment not only in the community today, but in the people who will call Durham home in the years and generations ahead.

01

Worship

A permanent place for Jumu’ah prayers and daily worship, giving the community a consistent and dedicated space to gather.

02

Community

A welcoming centre where people can come together, build connections, take part in activities, and support one another.

03

Legacy

A lasting asset for Durham’s Muslims, benefiting the present community while creating opportunities for future generations.

The fundraising goal

Help us reach £500,000 to establish the centre.

Every contribution helps move the project closer to becoming a permanent reality for Durham’s Muslim community.
